WHAT WE DO

We invite you to read about our programs and project that we are currently working on and what we hope to achieve in the near future.

PROGRAMS & PROJECTS.

The purposes of this organization is to provide lessons and information that promote equality for both men and women as well as disadvantaged groups, including the blind, crippled, deaf, and people with albinism in all stages of their development. We aim to offer support both individually and collectively as we understand the importance of subjectivity between people's difficulties. Moreover, we understand the impact that group sharing can have in creating empowerment through strong support networks and sounding boards.

Vocational class

Tupendane Africa Foundation offers its participants a wide variety of vocational classes to boost their life skills and equip them for general life outside of the classroom. Currently the three main areas that the classes cover are hairdressing, beading and sewing but in addition there are also cookery and soap making classes. We are very grateful to have a number of external volunteers and interns who visit the centre every day to support the women in their studies of these subjects. The aim of these classes is to give our women skills that they can use in the outside world and hopefully give them the ability to earn money in the future.

Day care service

We have opened a daycare to educate children between the ages of 2 to 5 who are unable to afford schooling. We  found that the women who were attending classes were less able to focus on their studies when they had their children with them. This is how Rose Flower Daycare was founded - a daycare that simultaneously aims to teach local children, while allowing our women to focus on their vocational programs. The daycare has now expanded to take in lots of local children, not just those who belong to the women here. We have around 44 children who come to Rose Flower Daycare every day.

Business training

This project consists of several business classes and training, including general knowledge, financial and management skills. We hope that teaching business skills alongside the vocational classes will allow the women who study at the Foundation to have their own businesses in the future. We realise the value of being financial independent, especially for women, and hope that these classes will equip them to confidently develop the skills needed to run their own successful business.

English program

Sponsorship program

Community Support Outreach

We are providing classes of English for women, as well as the youth and children. Our aim is for these classes to give our participants the necessary basic English skills to comminicate with volunteers, tourists and any future customers that they might have. Having a basic level of English can open so many doors, and we believe that having these language skills will enable our beneficiaries to interact with a wider variety of people from all over the world. This will have benefits in every area of their lives.

The sponsorship program is tied to supporting children in education, where we hope to be able to connect sponsors with children in need of funding for school. The aim of this program is to support children who are living in poverty and face daily social economic difficulties. This can include orphans and children from single parent households. A sponsor can play a crucial role in a child's development as their support allows the child to have opportunities that would ordinarily be unavailable to them due to their circumstances. We are looking for sponsors who could cover school meals, lessons, books and pens, school trips, uniforms, and health insurance. If this is something you think you would be interested in, please contact tupendaneafricafoundation@gmail.com or click the link bellow.

We pay visits to families that are financially challenged to provide support towards education, health, work opportunities and food. Unfortunately some members of our local community are not able to attend the Foundation programs in person due to their situation. We believe that this should not get in the way of them receiving our support. Because of this, we organise regular home visits that provide hope, love and care to families living in poverty in the area surrounding the Foundation. We bring parcels that contain food, material and other supplies that will hopefully provide immediate relief to those who cannot afford to sustain themselves.
